Asiana-operated flights at Incheon Airport use Terminal 2, not Terminal 1. That is the first detail to get right when booking a transfer or returning to the airport. This Asiana Airlines South Korea guide covers the next decisions: which bags to pack, when online check-in opens, where to find the counter and how to leave the airport. Start with the operating carrier shown on your ticket. A flight sold under an Asiana flight number but operated by another airline may use a different terminal.

At Incheon: go to Terminal 2, then find your counter
For an Asiana departure, head to the third-floor departure hall. The airline’s counter directions place its services in zones G, H and J, with entrances 7–9 useful when arriving by car or bus. From the rail transportation center, follow the passenger-terminal signs and go up to departures.

The areas above come from Incheon Airport’s check-in guide. Look up your flight on the departure display before joining a queue. The counter letters identify a starting area; the display and staff determine the right line for your ticket and baggage.
When comparing flight prices, keep three details beside each option: the actual operating airline, the airports used on both legs, and the total after any bags or seats you need. A slightly lower fare is less useful if it creates an awkward airport change or cannot be changed when your dates are uncertain. Save the fare conditions with the booking confirmation, rather than trying to reconstruct them later.
Checked bags: route category matters more than suitcase size
Asiana’s free-baggage page lists these standard international allowances before extra membership benefits. Use them as a starting point, then match them to the baggage line on your e-ticket. Infant allowances and mixed-airline journeys need separate checking.

Each bag’s length + width + height must be no more than 158 cm, including wheels and handles, to fit the standard size allowance. U.S. territories such as Saipan use the non-U.S. baggage rules. This is different from the online check-in grouping later in this guide.
Two 23 kg bags do not become permission to bring one 46 kg suitcase. Weigh each packed bag separately. For an extra or overweight bag, use the Asiana baggage calculator with your route, travel date, cabin and membership details. Its results apply to Asiana flight numbers operated by Asiana; do not extend them to a separate airline ticket.
Cabin bags: leave room for the small personal item
Under the published carry-on rules, Economy permits one cabin bag up to 10 kg, with combined dimensions of 115 cm or less, including wheels and handles. One small personal item is also allowed, within 40 × 30 × 20 cm, for the space under the seat in front.
Business permits two cabin bags, each up to 10 kg and 115 cm in combined dimensions, plus one personal item within the same smaller size limit. A connecting carrier can set different cabin-baggage rules.
Pack the items you need during the flight into the smaller bag before leaving home. A laptop, passport or charging cable should not require opening a suitcase in the boarding queue. Recheck the bag’s fit after airport shopping rather than assuming a duty-free purchase sits outside the allowance.
Online check-in: choose the correct opening window
The official online check-in page gives the following windows for eligible flights. U.S. routes open later than most other international services.

Have your travel date, six-character booking reference or 13-digit ticket number, and passport ready. The website allows check-in without signing in. Codeshares operated by another airline, document checks and some special-service bookings may require airport processing.
Do not use a closing deadline as your arrival time
Asiana’s counter page lists a 50-minute check-in cutoff at Incheon for international flights. Separately, its online check-in instructions ask international passengers with checked bags to complete bag drop by 60 minutes before departure. Follow the earlier applicable instruction and anything stricter on your booking.
KoreaSpot’s planning suggestion is to reach Terminal 2 about three hours before an international flight, allowing more time for holiday queues, assistance or unusual baggage. That is a buffer, not an airline deadline or a guarantee against delays. Use the boarding time on your pass for reaching the gate, not the later departure time.
Power banks: carrying one does not mean you may use it
Asiana’s rules effective April 20, 2026 allow up to two power banks of 100 Wh or less each. Larger units over 100 Wh and up to 160 Wh require airline approval and are subject to the stated combined quantity limits for power banks and spare batteries. Units above 160 Wh are prohibited.
Power banks cannot go in checked baggage and cannot be used or charged on board. Keep them with you or in the seat pocket, not in the overhead bin, and protect each unit against short circuits. The airline describes individual zipper bags, terminal tape or protective terminal caps as methods. Tell cabin crew immediately if a battery becomes hot or swollen.
Before handing over any checked bag, remove its power banks and keep their capacity labels readable. Asiana’s restricted-items page also covers international cabin liquids: containers up to 100 ml, together in a transparent resealable one-liter bag, with separate provisions for necessary medication. Check that page for unusual items instead of treating the ordinary suitcase allowance as permission to carry them.
Request a special meal before the travel day
Special meals must be requested at least 24 hours before departure and are available only on flights offering meal service. Overseas departures are also subject to local arrangements. Make the request through Asiana and retain the confirmation.
A special meal is not a promise of an allergen-free cabin. Asiana warns that peanut ingredients or traces may be present and that other passengers may carry peanuts. Travelers with a serious allergy should discuss their arrangements with the airline and their clinician before flying.
After landing: plan the last journey to the hotel
Once you have completed arrival formalities and collected your bags, the airport’s rail guide places the Terminal 2 Airport Railroad facilities in the B1 transportation center. Save the hotel’s full address and entrance, not just the nearest large station.

Think through the last transfer before buying: a quick airport-to-station ride can still leave a difficult walk with luggage. Avoid a tight, nonrefundable onward booking based only on the aircraft’s scheduled landing time.
For a taxi, follow the airport’s official taxi pickup guidance; a prebooked car may use a different meeting point from the ordinary rank. For a late arrival, confirm the hotel’s check-in arrangement before departure. A working door code or a staffed reception is more useful that evening than a long list of sights nearby. Make the first evening flexible enough to absorb a slow baggage delivery or a missed transport departure.
When a bag does not arrive, report it before starting your city plans
Asiana asks passengers to report baggage incidents at the arrival airport. Keep the baggage-tag receipt and have your flight details, a description of the bag, and a reachable contact ready. For damage, take clear photographs and preserve the tag.
Ask for the report reference and instructions before leaving. Keep a copy with the hotel address you will use for any delivery, especially if you are changing cities the next morning. Handle the report promptly rather than assuming an unclaimed bag will automatically follow your reservation.
Questions that come up just before departure
My ticket says Asiana. Can I assume Terminal 2?
Only after checking who operates the flight. The Terminal 2 notice applies to Asiana-operated Incheon flights; it tells passengers on codeshares to check the operating airline’s terminal.
Can I board with a “ticket for exchange”?
No. That is not a boarding pass. Asiana instructs passengers with this document to collect a boarding pass at the airport counter.
Does this baggage table cover a separate domestic flight?
No. The table is for international travel. Use the domestic ticket’s own baggage conditions rather than carrying over an allowance from your arrival flight.
Before leaving for the airport, keep one offline folder with the booking, passport details stored securely, baggage allowance, any special-service confirmation and your first hotel’s address. The aim is to make the next decision easy even when airport Wi-Fi or your phone signal is not.
